“Nightmares”

Our imagination ran wild as kids, at least mine did, and I remember how crazy my dreams were. Scary and dark nightmares. I still remember how they felt, how they looked. I would be running endlessly from monsters only to wake up sweating and in panic.

Now that I am older, I often reminisce on my fears as a kid. I wanted to express those memories and feelings into my work throughout these years in high school. I loved the pigmentation of ink and I felt like the clash of red and black was loud. Using harsh lines and contrasts yet giving the scenes of something out of a dream.

I also experimented with photography. If you look closely enough in nature, you can see the waters screaming and trees hiding from the wind. I wonder if they, as well, feel fear.
