Art statement:
A study of my own culture and how it translates through design would be the easiest way to describe my work. It's personal and nostalgic to me, as I revisit certain events and themes that make up who I am today. As my work varies through my early childhood to my most present memories, I try to recreate and present a visual representation of it. In my journey of recreating certain memories, I have discovered that culture plays a major role in how we see things. As a Mexican-American I can see both aspects of my identity being portrayed throughout my work.
